best way to render fake hair shadow
Good evening,
I have animated human characters and have set the hair to "strand render" to speed rendering, but want to fake a hair shadow and wonder what is the best way. I have experimented with a mesh shaped like the hair parented to the head and its material set to "cast only" for its shading and turned off "receive". This produces a reasonable fake shadow cast on a wall for example, but I have not found the best way to make it not cast a shadow on the characters head since that is not a reasonable shadow.
Any suggestions? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Scooter
