The Blenderworld Empty The Blenderworld

Ever since I saw The Terminator I've wanted to recreate it's opening sequence. My first attempt was using GW Basic on a brand new 16-color Tandy computer back in the early 90's.

I used Cycles for the render and Sony Vegas for the text effects. Each letter of the names had to be keyframed one-by-one, so it was a lengthy process.

The names were chosen from the active membership roster based on recent activity, post count, and BlenderNewbies seniority. Some BlenderNewbies, like deate, Dave, and Grimes weren't included because they haven't been active for a while or haven't made any posts, so I hope they don't feel slighted.

I knew the blue letters spelled out "Terminator" but I thought they were jumbled. After watching [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] a couple of times I realized it was "Terminator" in order, then it took me playing around in Blender a few times to realize it was "Termi" and "nator" coming together. So I did the same for "Blender" "world" (maybe I broke it up "Blende" "rworld", I can't remember...)

Anyways... I'm thinking of getting into Blender again, so maybe--just maybe--I'll be back.

Wow, you're at it again! This is great stuff!
I remember you working at a logo/kicker for Studio Greenleaf a good while back, and it looks like you've found something really good! I like it a lot.
One of these days I just might have to give an "epic roster" a go; just for fun. Maybe, if I'm very lucky, I'll be able to hold a candle to the first one you did. Wink

Wow that's excellent! And not just because I got a mention honest Smile

You did all of that in Blender? Brilliant stuff.

It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are rendered!

Pretty sweet! I saw this on your youtube page yesterday and it didn't occur to me until today that there was something on here about it! Lol! Really good stuff. I hope your encouraged by this to keep on keeping on.

There are those that are very good at quantity and then there are those, such as yourself, that rely on quality. cheers
