It's hard to say without any additional information. I'll just start off by asking, is there a light source in your scene?

Good morning,
If there is a light, perhaps it is not on a render layer that is on, or could be set to not render in the outliner.

I fixed it by appending every object and texture in my seen to a new one

That seems like destroying all your cattle because one of them developed pox.  Or in other words, doing something extreme to solve a simple problem.  Looking at it, you were likely on a viewport setting that shows a render preview and you had no lights in your active layers.  Changing the viewport setting or enabling the layers with lights would have fixed that issue quickly.

I am glad you were able to get it working though.  Please remember to thank the posters above who took the time to try and help, it goes a long way to build a stronger community.
