Mirror Modifier

I'm having a problem with the mirror modifier. So I cut my cylinder in half, but now when I use the mirror modifier instead of it being whole again and the parts being together it's separated not even close to together!

No problem, you just have to bring the verts back to the center and enable clipping:

1. Select all your verts,
2. Move them over the middle line,
3. Enable clipping,
4. Move the verts back to where you need them.  The left-hand verts should merge along the center with their mirror counterparts once you start to move them back out.
