How to remove half of the mesh (but leave vertices)

Post  R3DT4ILH4WK on Mon Jan 05, 2015 6:54 pm

So, I'm following a book on game development with blender it says "remove half of the mesh (leaving the vertices in the middle)" but the thing is I don't have a clue on how to do this, whether to use a loop cut or physically cut it in half. So I would much appreciate it if someone could possibly give me some advice on a way to go about doing this. Thanks! Very Happy

Welcome to the forum R3DT4...ILH... (that's an odd screen name I just got to say) Laughing

1. First tab into selection mode,
2. set your view to wireframe (shortcut key is 'Z'),
3. click on the vertex select button,
4. then set your view either front or side depending on what you are needing to cut (shortcut key is 'numpad 1' or 'numpad 3' (or 'numpad 7' for top),
5. click the 'B' key for box selection,
6. draw an outline over all the verts you need to delete--as close to but not over the center verts,
7. release the mouse button and click x > 'Verticies'.
