Packt Subscription Special

http://www.packtpub.com is holding a $10 for 10 days sale, where all their videos and books are $10.  They have Blender and Unity books, as well as Python and similar technical books that appeal to our type of folk.  Sale ends 5 July.

Packt Publishing is starting a subscription model for $220 a year or $22 a month. This model gives you unlimited access to their entire library plus a free download of your choice each month. Signing up for the year model gives you five free books in addition to your monthly allotment.

I've had a SafariBooksOnline subscription for a few years, which includes all of Packt's books, and it's been a great thing to have. If I need to quickly learn about a php function, I can read a chapter of a php book dedicated to that function. If I'm in the mood for a full read, I have access to thousands of technical and leadership books.

Packt doesn't have the library that SafariBooksOnline has, but with the free books (17 in total for a year's subscription--plus unlimited access to the library) this is a good deal.
