Bloody hell that's nice. I can't find any flaws; the Picatinny, the muzzle, everything's perfect! I'd be interested in seeing what your texture sheets look like.
Good to see you around again!

Thanks Dan!

Here's the texture sheets:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
[clockwise from top left: albedo, gloss, metalness, normal]

I'm not sure how familiar y'all are with so called "physically based rendering", but it's a texturing workflow that's used in unreal engine 4. The albedo determines the color of the surface (no lighting information such as AO is included here, this allows for the object to look good in any lighting condition); the gloss determines the sharpness and brightness of the reflections (more diffuse reflections are dimmer due to conservation of energy); the metalness determines whether the albedo affects the color of the reflections (metal materials have colored reflections and almost no diffuse, while non-metals have reflections which are only colored by the color of the light/reflections); the normal map you're familiar with I'm sure.

It's nice to be around again!

Welcome back, Cole!

Not really sure if such a rifle would be practical in any situation IRL, but definitely cool to look at. You made one hell of a model for sure!

Just curious, how did you generate the normal map?

Thanks Dobi! The normal map was baked in xNormal, but I added a few details in Photoshop.

Great work, Cole! I'm glad to see you still working in the design field. Was this modeled in Blender or another package?
Welcome back to the forum. What's been new with you since you've been away?

Yep, modeled in Blender.

Lately I've been attending a local community college to get my associates degree in computer science. Other than that, not much has been happening.

Slick model! BTW, how do you like the Unreal Engine 4? I'm working on some concept art and am hoping to make the plunge soon.

Thanks Xray! Unreal Engine 4 is really awesome. Easy to use and looks great. Getting used to the PBR system can be a bit of an adjustment but it's a fun, easy workflow once you get used to it.
