Yup, good ol' Michigan. Around 10 minutes away from my home town (there's lots of corn fields, hay fields, etc).

Hi guys--I've been away on temp duty (TDY) for a few weeks.  I know we are detail nuts, wanting to see the details of an object as much as the object itself, so I got some detail shots:

The top-left panels of a Mig-29 Fulcrum (looking from the nose to the tail--so the aircraft's left is on the right in this pic).

Further down the Fulcrum showing some more of the center. The square vents from the above image lead into this image.

Right wing-to-base edge of the Fulcrum.  Note the non-smoothness of the panels that make up the body.

Right side of the Fulcrum's nose.  Note the panels.

Variable propelling exhaust nozzle for an F-4.  Note the detail of each blade.

Bottom of an F-4's tail with arresting hook partially visible.

Global Hawk--note the size of the panels that make up the body and the color variation.

Those are some really nice shots. I've got a buddy that just came back from the airshow in England. You weren't in those parts were ya?

Drive in Maryland Snow (Dashcam)

Post  BnBGobo99 on Sun Feb 22, 2015 1:17 pm

This is a dashcam video of a drive in the snow during a snowfall on 21 February 2015 in Maryland. The video has not been sped up or slowed down, the music makes it seem to go slower.

Music is "Echo" by Helen Jane Long from the album "Porcelain", an amazing piano player and composer.

Trying out some Neutral Density filters.  This was taken during rush hour, the goal was to totally eliminate the cars, but I still have a lot of ghosting.  I ordered two ND1000 lens filters, I'll stack them both together and try again:

A second try at the highway with the new ND1000 filter:

And an image of a small island called "Chinaman's Hat" off Kualoa Ranch (where some of Pearl Harbor and Jurassic Park was filmed):

While waiting for the sunrise to capture the eclipse-in-progress. (Hawaii only got 1/3rd coverage, but an eclipsed sunrise was too unique to pass up. Unfortunately, the clouds didn't cooperate.)

Those are some great pictures! With the empty highway shot, was it just using filters and a long exposure time to essentially "erase" the vehicles? Also, where I was it was around 92% of the sun covered for the eclipse, however, I couldn't take any pictures of it, so nothing to show from me.
