Captain America 2 (Movie Review)
Before we get started...
...does anyone want to get out?
So I was driving through DC late last summer and a SHIELD cruiser passed me... it was awesome. I figured they were shooting the TV show, but no--it was for the new Captain America movie "The Winter Soldier". Way cool! (Although the main action sequence through downtown DC wasn't filmed in DC... )
Check out that 3D lighting reference gizmo.
This movie was great--there's not much to comment on as far as graphics or directing, since the Avenger's-licensed franchise all look and feel about the same (which isn't bad!). Each series has its own theme: Thor is aimed at a female audience (the director even said so), Iron Man is more late-teens/early-20's, the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy looks like it's aimed at 12-year-old boys, and Captain America is aimed at possibly the most diverse audience of the lot.
You don't need to watch the SHIELD TV show to enjoy this movie--there are a couple of drop-ins and hints, but that's about it. You can tell Scarlett Johansson was growing her hair out for "Lucy" (which is coming out soon) while filming Captain America... not sure why I mention that.
You know... DC looked so clean in this movie, it made me wanna spend the day down there.
Bunnie's rating: (3 1/2 out of 4)
Better than: Noah, Iron Man 2 (didn't see 3), Thor 1 & 2
Equal to: Captain America 1, Iron Man 1
Not as good as: Captain Phillips (not the same category movie, but the title's match--seriously, Captain Phillips was good.)

Blatantly ignoring your review (Sounds good though), are you looking forward to Lucy?

The funny thing, I can't remember the trailer for Lucy, only that there was one. My wife turned to me after it played to say that she wants to see it... But it must not have left an impression on me, lol. I do remember thinking this is like a Liam Neeson movie, with a female lead instead of our favorite Irish actor.

Yeah, I missed the boat on my review of Noah... Hope that didn't tarnish my future reviews.Radialronnie wrote:Blatantly ignoring your review

Naah, not like that. I'm just a bit super-hero-ed-out.BnBGobo99 wrote:Yeah, I missed the boat on my review of Noah... Hope that didn't tarnish my future reviews.Radialronnie wrote:Blatantly ignoring your review
I read these, and lend them a lot of credence. I really do. In fact, I even linked your Noah review to a friend who was wondering about the movie. So your film critique career is now officially bigger than just the Blender world!
Next on the Green Leaf Studios press channel: GLS opens a new movie critique blog called the Bunny's Blade where B-Man dissects all the latest movies so you don't have to. Stay tuned for more.

What can I say, I'm working my way up! I'll invite you all to the next Oscars after party, hehe
Btw, 4 years 11 months to go until Studio Greenleaf goes live... I'm gonna make some local commercials... Work my way beyond if things go well or just sit back and take it easy.
{I'm like a little kid--I keep changing what I want to do when I "grow up" every time I post about it, lol! Check out "Life After Pi". It will make you fear the industry.}
{{I took down my post about Noah because I felt I might be getting too much in the weeds as far as scripture goes--I know we never set rules about religious or political conversation, but the BlenderNewbies norm seemed to be to avoid those topics.}}
