Whilst the Sun is going down, we sail.
Felt like painting something this evening so I pulled out my dusty tablet, started laying down some colors to try out some brushes, and this eventually formed.

I have no idea what "Clicky the picky shan't be tricky and shall yield a result..... shick-ey?" means, but the painting is really awesome. The subtle swirls in the boat's reflection was a nice touch, as well as the complementary color usage. Nice work!

Thanks! I think I was trying to say that a click yields a nicer resolution of the picture.

Anyone notice the changes in the posting interface as of a day or so ago? Is that something Mike/Joel did? Or some updates further up the line?

that's awesome!
So "simple" but still powerful.
What tablet do you have and/or recommend?

Darn it, lost a long reply when I loaded a bookmark.
Anyway, Thanks!
It it indeed simple, and don't bother putting it in quotation marks because I can't pretend that it's NOT made of huge, fat brush strokes and almost no detail, but still, I kinda like it.
I have an off-brand Monoprice tablet which was about $50 for a 10"x6" and is larger than it sounds. I would definitely recommend these as they're much cheaper for pretty much the same performance. The downsides can be somewhat lesser quality for the physical product. The Pen on mine feels a bit weak though if you don't let the dog chew on it, it should be fine.
If you have more cash to spend, you might be interested in a Cintiq alternative which I found on Deviant Art. It's an odd $1k cheaper than the real thing and is highly praised on Amazon and the like.
My best advice is to check the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere via google.

I can't speak for any other, but I have an Inuos 3 and I love it. I'm guessing most of them are the same now days as far as features/performance. I had read once upon a time that the Cintiques were very nice, but almost always had a gripe about how they were inaccurate around the edges. At this point I would think that you could pick up an Intuos for cheap.
