Clip editor for tracking

Post  Xraygunner on Thu Jul 18, 2013 10:37 pm

Ok, so I've been using the clip editor to do some camera tracking. Admittedly it's been slow going. Now that I've got the basics down and have been making some progress I decided to do some house cleaning and moved the folder that has my .blend (and everything needed... .tga's for example) to another folder. Now when I open up the .blend all of my video (tga's) aren't linked anymore. When I try to reload by pointing blender to the folder with the tga's in it blender loads a new clip without any of my keyframes.

I know the simple solution is to move the folder back (I tried it and it works), but I would love to know how to move the folder and then point blender in the correct direction without loading a new sequence. There has to be a way, right? Question

Posting to say I haven't ignored this. I've never used blender's sequencer so I really know nothing about it.

Good evening,
sorry for the very late response. Bad news. I have learned this the hard way and it has to do with Blenders relative paths. Just like other types of linked items, its metadata is looking to where you originally told it to. You may be able to change your relative path settings next time you create a file and not have this problem, but I think there are other problems that may come with that.
Good luck,
Scooter
