The World Around Us

Post  BnBGobo99 on Fri May 10, 2013 5:34 pm

There has been an explosion of little cotton-like puffs floating all over the place today. I grabbed one and looked under a Carson MagniScope to see what it was. I found this tiny little seed stuffed inside a wired bundle of fluff. It's amazing such a small seed can grow into a decent sized tree.

Once I figured out that I can take photos just by placing the iPhone's camera over the scope viewport, I went wild:

Rust on a barbecue grill.

Wood grain and grossness on the deck.

Data-chip in an ID card.

Kindle e-ink display.

The difference between a retina display on an iPod/iPad.

Very very cool. I'm always fascinated by this kind of thing.

Its really amazing that you can get such incredible quality with what you are working with.

BTW have you seen this?
